President Ahmadinejad in a meeting with ICCIM representatives while putting an emphasis on comprehensive culture of production and productive investments, said: the government decided to implement the privatization program in the shape of Justice Shares by turning over the state companies to people in next year, of course the government is forbidden to invest in new areas.
Doctor Ahmadinejad in the 2 hour meeting emphasized that industrialists and manufactures should recognizes the damages of production and industry sector.
He then added: the government is ready to study and remove the barriers of non-governmental sectors expansion in the shape of joint group including the representatives of related ministries, chambers of commerce, manufactures and industrialists.
He said: for moving forward and implementing the “we can” motto, the legal, official and behavioral barriers should be removed and we should be unanimous for rebuilding dear Iran and Know that we are all responsible for the country fate and the view of the people including businessmen and industrialists should be national under which personal interests and benefits are secured.
President Ahmadinejad while referring to this point that exporting goods are the honour of the country, said: economic ties, especially exporting to the various countries are the properties of the relations among nations and also supporter of the governments. At the beginning, these relations are thin strings that will change into thick ropes which could not be torn by the enemies of the Islamic regime.
Ahmadinejad said: the government will do its best to change the IRI embassies method of activity and our ambassadors should be the observers of economic situation in their mission location, and also the supporters, advisors, and benefit providers for the Iranian exporters.
The Iranian President while welcomed a suggestion from the industry representatives about using the Iran Chambers of Relations for solving atomic issues, said: the government is ready to use all the capacities of the industrialists and businessmen to elevate the Islamic Iran
He said: the country does not belong to a special group and in the 9th government we have no secret and according to Imam Khomeini (Rah) guidance, we decide in such a way which we can express it clearly, because we believe all affairs should be done by people.
Before the President speech, Representatives from industry, trade and export expressed issues of their guild.
Engineer Khamoushi president of the ICCIM while appreciating the President Ahmadinejad, said: the invitation was from the popular president to listen to the private sector problems and as private sector we expect the president to attend another meeting at ICCIM and listen to speeches of 700 active members.
He added: but we take advantage of this opportunity and the representatives from different sectors express their viewpoints.
Dr. Rejal vice president of ICCIM who was the first speaker in this meeting, while reporting the outputs of the industries, said: during the 8-year Holy Defence, the Iranian producer and manufacturer cause to lay the foundation of Iran’s indepency for next generation with its responsibility and all people – from part maker to former- defended the country. He considered the increase in non–oil industrial exports as the reason of his saying and added: the growth of industrial exports share reached to 35% in 1383 from 11%.
Dr. Rejal said: during the Third Program of Development the growth of value added of mine industry was predicted to 11/1 % (the highest growth) as compared to 8% growth.
The share of this sector in Gross National Product (GNP) is 18/8% and in exports sector, on the average, the annual growth was 19% which raised to 71/4% in 1383 from 56/6% in 1378.
He added in the draft of the “National Development Document”, the state industrial sector, has used over 23 times Banking Credit resources, more than non-state sector, but the employment creation by the private sector despite low usage of the credits was 69/9%.
Masoud Daneshmand member of the Board of Directors and Treasure of the ICCIM in this meeting while referring to the transit issues, said: the arriving ports of Iranian goods are far from consumption and storage point and the transportation industry is a dynamic one.
He pointed out to the benefits of transit and swap used by different countries and said: Transit of good, can create U.S 10 bn dollars revenue for the country and also causes to job creation.
He finally warned that if a Parallel transit route, forms in our neibouring country, returning it again to our country will be a hard task.
Ibrahim Jamili member of the ICCIM Board of Director said: the amount of value added and role of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) which mainly belong to the private sector have a marginal role in the exporting function of the country.
According to Jamili, having trust in Private Sector and its presence in the decision making centers, as well as its participation in the implementing affairs and giving more share to private sector will cause it to be reinforced and that is effective for supporting the government.
He suggested the President to enjoy the ICCIM and the assistance and experience for solving the Atomic Energy issue.
The President of Zanjan Chamber of Commerce added: I request the president to order all the Iranian embassies through the foreign minister in the world to cooperate with Iranian businessmen which are considered as the economic soldiers.
Hasan Entezar President of Uromiah Chamber of Commerce while thanking the government of Khatami for removing the exporting barriers, told the president: if one of the government motto which is “Justice-based” is put in place, that will be enough.
He said: this is not “Justice” that an Iranian industrialist pays 30%customs tariff, because it prevents his activities and the domestic manufacturing firms don’t have the ability to manufacture some products. He called the law of “Summed up Duties” as industry destroyer and asked for solving the problem.
He finally put on emphasis on removing of parallel tasks and offered the omission of “the House of Industry and Mine”.
Ali Mohammad Sharifi, head of the Board of Iranian textiles Industry Association said: the textiles industry is an income producing and job creating one, but the complicated and anti-producing laws have increased the final price of the products, so that the final price of the Iranian products is 60% to 70% more than that of foreign similar ones. The major factor which can secure the textiles industry is its competitiveness and paying attention to the quality and plan of products.
The other speaker of the meeting was Jamshid Nafar member of the Board of Representatives of the ICCIM and member of the Iranian Association of Exports of the hide, salambor and leather While referring to the importance of the production and exports in the present world, said: unfortunately in our country inspit of attention paid to the importance of exports, there is not a suitable mechanism for policymaking in line with the government.
The member of Board of Representatives of ICCIM while referring to the economic crises of years 74 /79, said: the result of production and exports of the country, under the protection and ability of the ICCIM managers, formed “Iran Exporting Association” and they are prepared to help the production and exports of the country, so is it not the time to have trust in private sector?
He then suggested to president Ahmadinejad that the implementing authorities of the Trade promotion organization be vested to Iran Exporting Association.
Mohammad Norouzi another member of the Board of representatives of the ICCIM specified in his speech: Transaction powers are those businessmen who change the goods and services into money.
He said: the events of last few years in the Persian Gulf and the September 11 attack show that the countries’ security is not restricted to the military security and include other factors such as economic, scientific and cultural security as well.
He said to the President: if it is not possible to provide productive aids like industrial and developed countries, we can at least help the growth and development of the country through reducing destroying barriers facing the industry.
